final project- Winter Warmth

My project is about the warmth winter can bring. I wanted my series to express a different side of winter; the warmer side. I did this by using sunlight. The sunlight gave me great shadows as well. The shadows are strong because of the setting sunlight. The shadows give the photos different values. I think all of my photos have good composition because they follow the rule of thirds. There is also good lighting and all the photos feel balanced. I like how the photos feel simple compositionally. These photos are digital and I worked with them on Photoshop. I played with the color balance. The series has good values and contrast as well. I feel that these photos have a color scheme that expresses my theme well. The colors pull my series together. I chose to use plain and simple matting because I think anything else would take away from the photos themselves. I wanted everything to look professional. I enjoyed photographing with sunlight because of the warm feeling it gives to my photos. I feel I have a strong series overall.

back of my head

this is the back of my head. i changed it to black and white, i think i like it better this way. it has really good contrast and good values. i am not sure if i like the lights by my head? i tried burning it but it didn't work. there are prob. ways of getting rid of it but i don't know how. i like the sharpness of my hair and how the light was hitting the back of my head.

favorite color

this is my favorite color photo, which is green. that's why i took a pic of a pine tree. i like the light coming from behind the tree and the highlights on the snow. the photo has pretty good composition. the snow path leads my eye across the photo. its an ok photo.

lit by a flash-light

this is the flash-light photo. i think it turned out pretty good. i usually don't like blurry photos but i kind of like how this one turned out. it has pretty good colors; i didn't do any photo-shoping on this one. if i were to change anything i don't think it would show the use of only lighting with a flashlight.

five of the same thing

this is my 5 things. i chose to take photos of different cameras. i tired to include the lenses in each photo and i also tried some different viewpoints. i feel the photos have good contrast and good clarity. the top photo is an old film camera, second one is my old digital, third one is my dad's film camera, forth is my film camera, and the last one is my dad's digital camera.
