I really dont like using photos of myself but i had no other choice. In the magazine the photographer Brianna Graham takes life style photography. The photo i chose was of a mom and her 2 little girls laughing. its a black and white photo but its has a pink reddish tone to it. this is what i did with this photo. Graham uses a black background with the light coming from the right side. i did the same thing. i set up my tripod and placed the light on the ground the left of me. i had to use the flash otherwise my photos get pixely so it is harder to see the light coming from the right. on photoshop i went in and whitened the eyes. i did a slight blur.
In the magazine the same photographer as below also did a set of photos, but with different kids who had kind of the same expression/mood. so this time used 3 different people with a similar expression. the photographer used light coming from the right side and so did i. I placed mine a little different. I did a blur effect on all 3, then i went in and sharpened the eyes, lips, and done the nose. I also whitened the eyes and highlights and burned the eyelashes. I learned this from the field trip. The photographer form the magazine used different sensory things to make the kids moods, but i only told my models to act serious. I really like the composition of this photos, but they turned a little pixely. i colored balanced the photos than i decreased the saturation.
In the magazine i used there are photos set up like this with a kid making different faces or expressions. the photo is in black and white. I tried to use some of the same techniques. It was a little difficult using my dog, but i think i got pretty god photos. I used some of the techniques from the field trip. it sharpen her eyes and burned the center to make them stand out. I also made the highlights stand out using the dodge tool. In the magazine it talked about how kids react to different things with expressions because they can't talk very well. That is kind of like a dog because dogs can't speak. The photographer uses different sensory things to change the child's mood. I used a dog treat to move my dog's head and change her expressions.
