series

My series is demonstrating how i am quiet person. the first photo shows how i am quiet in school or when i am around people i have just met. I used the light coming from the right because i wanted only half of her face to have light on it. light represents others and me kind of turning away because i am shy. i used a white sheet as the background. i like how it is dark in the lower left corner.

the second photo represents my quietness about my faith. I don't talk about my faith that often. i took this photo at my church. in photoshop i made the photo have a soft focus. i had the light coming from the left side and coming down on her head. i did that to make her face have a shadow and the top of her head have the light reflecting on it. i like how she is kind of hiding but it also looks like she is thinking or reflecting. the photo feels balanced.

The third photo represents how i am somewhat quiet during soccer. I am a little more open during soccer because i am around some of my friends. with this photo i didn't want to just take a picture of someone holding a soccer ball . i used the soccer goal net as a way to demonstrate the theme. i really like the values in this photo. i like the angle of this photo too. the net frames her face.

the fourth photo shows how i express myself through photography. photography allows me too express myself without using words. even though i am a quiet person i can "speak" through my photography. I think this is the reason why i like photography so much. I had the lighting coming from the left, but i had most of her face lit up. i did this because photography it were i am not as quiet so her face is lit up. I like how there are dark shadows around the edges.

Kate- I want you to explain your series. Why did you choose the lighting, subject, composition? What are you trying to help the viewer to understand about your inner world?

in your second photo i like the lighting and how you make half of face visible, that makes the picture turn out. nice job too!

I really like your photos. I think they have unity by using the same subject in your photos. good job! : ) I like the last one the best. the contrast is really good.
